Aquarius Szn: Roll up your sleeves and get to work.

If this next month doesn’t light you up, I don't know what will.

Aquarius Szn is all about community, broad systems, humanitarianism. Not only can we take a look at our bigger picture on a personal level, but there is special emphasis on the collective as well. Aquarius asks us to look at our “why’s” and “how’s”, instead of just the “what’s”.

Knowledge is power.

Did anyone else sing that song in kindergarten?

When the sun takes its spotlight to the water bearer, attention to knowledge and collaboration is a must. We are reminded of our collective power and necessity in each other to create a world wherein we are happy, healthy, safe and connected. Educating yourself is the most crucial and primary step in making changes in life- personal, societal or global.

This goes beyond picking up a new book. Join a mutual aid group to learn what your local community needs. Meet people of different faiths and backgrounds and have open dialogues. Look at your own shadow and see what limiting beliefs you hold about the world, yourself and society at large. You need to give your soul, mind and body the room to take up space, respectfully and correctly.

Magic only works when you participate.

Step two? Get involved! There is a push right now to consider the community you are a part of, or want to be a part of. Are you showing up authentically? What is preventing you from doing so? Is this group a reflection of your values? Can you be a better friend? Life requires a village, and thus requires you to be a villager.

The price of community is inconvenience. Meaning, if you want to be part of a group there will be sacrifices to your time, resources and energy. Community is selflessness, all around, without expectation. The beauty is that community means that when you are in need, you will receive the same back. It’s this beautiful cycle of give-and-take that ultimately benefits everyone in glorious ways.

But it's not all just trading eggs for sugar. Community requires logistics, collaborative thinking, democracy, and effort. To truly make the difference you are craving you need to ACT. Volunteer labor, lead discussions and host get-togethers. Show up in your local government or block party. Notice when your neighbor hasn’t mowed their lawn in a while. Matter of fact, go introduce yourself to your neighbor.

Yes, it is going to require work. That’s the inconvenient part. It does add something to your plate, but ultimately lightens the load because it's not you alone anymore. It’s this beautiful group of people you found or cultivated, and because of this, everyone benefits.

How does Aquarius fit in, again?

There is some debate regarding Aquarius’ ruler; traditionally Saturn, but more modernly Uranus.

I personally align more with Uranus, being that it’s the planet of rebellion, innovation and eccentricism. But Saturn with its stoic, structured and karmic influence also fits the Aquarius bill, so it’s up to you how you associate.

Regardless of your vote, both planets can show us a similar theme: how is our past shaping our present, and what can we release in the name of personal and collective growth? Do we have the discernment to recognize hindering behaviors, or have we acknowledged the karmic lessons that are returning? Or are we burying our heads in the sand and waiting for it to blow over? (spoiler alert- it won’t).

In an entrepreneurial sense, community could not be more important. You need viewers, readers, clients and customers. People who view your content are all warm leads that can convert to customers. Other business owners become friends, mentors and supporters. Accountability and inspiration is found in connection with others.

Review your beliefs surrounding community and collaboration. Do you give out what you’d like in return? Are you an active part of your community? How can your gifts be used to do your part in the collective good? Retrospectively, are you giving more than you are receiving? Reimagine and assert your boundaries.

Aquarius Szn shakes things up for the ultimate purpose of growth, expansion and evolution. This is as personal a journey as it is global, but individuals doing the necessary work is what makes change. When we remember that we have the power, nothing can stand in our way. This is the moment to choose differently, and show up.

Valuable lessons from childhood

Never forget your power.
