Community Is the New Currency (and It Changed Everything)

Lisa Marie Aguis of Womanprenuer is on the mic (the doc?) this week to share with you her thoughts on community, online presence and entrepreneurship.

There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from chasing visibility.

It’s the kind of tiredness that comes from trying to be visible enough to be chosen.

For a long time, I thought this was the price of ambition.
Post more. Pitch harder. Stay relevant. Don’t disappear, because disappearing felt like financial death.

I started my career inside the walls of corporate marketing, then stepped into freelancing, then finally opened my own marketing agency. I knew how to build brands, create campaigns, and generate attention.

The outreach phase was… character building.
Cold messages. Warm leads that cooled overnight. Conversations full of “this feels aligned” that somehow never aligned enough to pay an invoice.

There were months held together by hope, caffeine, and the belief that the next DM would surely be the one.

One evening, after another promising lead vanished into the digital ether, I stared at my phone and thought:

There has to be a way to build a business without knocking on new doors everyday.

Instead of asking how to be more visible, I asked a different question:
What if I built something people stayed connected to?

I stopped chasing.

Not dramatically or with a manifesto.
Just quietly, intuitively, the way most real pivots actually happen.

But that question did change everything.

I didn’t launch a flashy offer or reinvent myself. I opened a room.
A Facebook group. A simple email list, which is now Womenpreneur. A place to talk honestly about business, growth, money, and identity, without pretending everything was always “high vibe” and scaling effortlessly.

That room became my anchor.
Then my home base and 66k other women’s homes too.
Then, slowly and steadily, the engine behind my business.

Here’s what no one really tells you:

Money doesn’t come from attention alone.
It comes from trust, built over time.

Community creates that time and trust.

If we were sitting across from each other, coffee between us, city humming in the background, I’d tell you this:

Making money online isn’t a glamorous shortcut.
But with the right structure, it can be elegant.
It can be calm.
And it can feel deeply aligned with who you are.

What I’ve learned along the way is simple:

Consistency outlives charisma.
Support shortens the hard parts.
And slow, intentional growth always beats fast, empty wins.

Today, I teach women how to build their own facebook group, that don’t just convert but connect.

Not to go viral.
But to go deeper.

Because in a world obsessed with being seen,
The real power belongs to those who are remembered.

If the algorithm doesn’t get you, there's 65,000 women already understand exactly what you’re building.

Be part of our Facebook group here Join the community here.

It’s free, and you’ll be stepping into a room with 65,000+ women building businesses, creating, and sharing their stories.
