Day One of Embodying My Role as an Entrepren-woo-er
How the hell do you brand yourself? I’m so glad you asked.
I have no idea.
No, no I’m serious. I sit and nitpick my online appearance regularly, asking myself “does this fit? is this me?” and the whole time…it is.
There is no user guide. There is no manual. All that you have is that beautiful brain of yours, your intuitive spark and the willingness to start the adventure. You truly have to channel Aries-like energy and be okay with impulsive, experimental action.
That’s the thing with being your own boss and pioneering something that has not quite happened yet. Of course, there are a plethora of spiritual entrepreneurs. But they, just like me, are walking out into the meadow gingerly and excitedly, and aren’t exactly sure what is going to work and what isn’t. It’s giving Bambi. Except Bambi is also having an identity crisis and juggling all the needs of the day-to-day alongside his journey.
So when I read something about Pluto recently moving direct in Aquarius, it sparked something lowkey revolutionary in me. It reminded me that my magic is rooted in my unique energy and that I’m missing out on something extraordinary.
“Aquarius doesn't care about approval. Aquarius invents the system, breaks it, then invents a better one. This is visionary chaos. The weird ideas you’ve been hiding? They're your blueprint.” instagram post by universeofbetty and thecosmicco_.
So um…I guess it’s time to saddle tf up?
Visionary chaos is a theme that I can trace back to many moments in my life. This business alone has set my brain on fire (ha!) more times than I can count as I tried to find the flow that works for me. Except now, I’ve got the confidence (or the lack of inhibition and a surplus of intuition) to throw shit at the wall and see what spirit likes.
In hindsight, it seems rather obvious. Of course I have to think outside the box in my witchy business. But like many other budding (and already bloomed) business owners, I suffer from the occasional bout of imposter syndrome.
“I’m not skilled enough,” “nobody even cares about my content,” “my ideas are all been-done and tired.” So a lot of the time, I just don’t…do..anything. Which is completely unaligned with what FiresignCopy is supposed to stand for- bold, outspoken, no-fucks-given action and presence.
Those limiting beliefs feel a whole lot like I’m giving a fuck.
So when I read Betty’s post the other day, I had to reconcile with what has actually stood in the way of my business- ME. Good god.
Part of being a entrepren-woo-er is truly Libra-esque in nature. You have to find the balance between spreadsheets and spell jars, intuition and Intuit, tinctures and hashtags. I myself blend the two worlds with mini-rituals before sitting at my laptop or using divination to decide which direction to take.
My literal job with FireSignCopy is the melting pot between magic and business. Imagine my internal crisis when I realize that I sometimes struggle with the very things I help my clients with. But it’s tough to take your own advice.
This blog is step one of getting good and comfy outside of my comfort zone. So what if it flops? So what if I get 8 likes again? The point isn’t to be good- it's to be real. And we all know that true manifestation - whether its monetary success, visibility or whatever you are striving for- comes from abundance and authenticity. Picture-perfect isn’t going to work for us. We are above that surface-level paygrade.
What if your brand isn’t strategy, but energy?
I recently updated my website to reflect this: Aligned, actionable and AUTHENTIC are the three pillars of my business. And what kind of weirdo would I be if I didn't show up with those three attributes to my clients and viewers?
I'll answer you- I’d be a hypocrite. And Ryan Hansen is nothing if not true to her word. (blame it on my daddy capricorn moon always needing to be right).
How does alignment show up in my business? For my clients, it’s tuning in to their unique frequencies while working on their project. As a spiritual person, I have the ability to intuitively understand their business and produce work that not only sounds like them, but feels like them.
For me, it means only touching my work, my emails, my social media when I am fully present and in flow. I don’t share work that doesn’t fit and I don’t hop on trends because it will get me views- I only produce content that fits with me, not the other way around.
What does “actionable” even mean to me? If it’s not something that I have done or can do, it has no place in my business. I avoid using words like “scale up” or “limited time” because that isn’t how I operate. I am not going to promise results to my clients that I can’t back up with action or real steps to take.
How can I show up as my most authentic self? Authenticity is a blend of my first two pillars, but it also means no censorship. I am loud, I am proud, I swear like a sailor and I love my work. I’ll shout that from the rooftops, be loud about my support for my clients and only show up in my realest, rawest form. Fuck professionalism, my boss doesn’t care ;)
So how do you brand yourself? You don’t- the brand is already you.
With these in mind, I’m stepping forward. On shaky legs, on new ground, in uncertain terms. But I know that as long as I keep myself in tune with these three reminders, the Universe has my back. I can’t fail. I can only learn.
