Pleasure as Productivity: Lessons from the Taurus Full Moon

Hey gorgeous. The moon is in Taurus, and while you may think that means drunk brunches and extra roses in the house, we can’t totally forget the work we’ve been doing.

Taurus moons are like honey and smooth jazz in the background while you make yourself breakfast in silk pajamas. It’s the reminder that pleasure is productive; because a well-fed soul works better.

In the astrological wheel, Taurus is second. While Aries (numero uno!) initiates action, Taurus is desire.  By romanticizing the outcome, we can maintain the momentum that Aries started, and move one step closer to the goal. The idea becomes a vision, becomes a conversation, and so on ‘round the wheel.

Taurus is the bull, but also ruled by Venus. The juxtaposition may seem stark, but when stubbornness meets beauty and value, you start to see the full picture. Taurus stands up for what it deserves, whether its justice, luxury or relationships. When the moon moves into Taurus, these values are in the spotlight.

Taurus is an Earth sign, so possibly literally digging your feet into the earth would do some good. We’re in the middle of Scorpio season, which means that while we're digging through the ashes of the shit we burned, there could be a diamond buried somewhere. And by diamond, I mean a rough piece of rock that you need to cut, polish and shine.

Nothing comes for free. The things that you have been hiding away, the things you have been afraid to embody are coming to the surface and Taurus is here to hold your feet steady while they move through you. But more on that later.

In a culture that glorifies the grind, Taurus reminds you that taking care of the self takes care of those around you- your purpose, your people, your peace.

Where does Taurus fall in your chart? This aspect of your life could use a slow-down. Luxuriate and amplify the✨ vibes✨ to add more pleasure to your life. Light a candle, and ask yourself: “Where do I need to recognize my value, or someone else’s? How can I redirect my energy to myself? What blocks are sitting in the way of honoring my talent, power and prowess?” Write down anything that doesn’t align with these values, and then burn the paper.

And as we move into this Full Moon — one that’s supercharged, by the way — things might start to swell before they soften. Emotions, desires, realizations... all bubbling up so you can finally release what’s been weighing you down. Use Taurus’s steady energy to hold yourself through it. Let it remind you of your talent, your power, and your worth.

Taurus rules the throat and vocal cords, as well as the neck and shoulders. So talk your shit, babe. Our voices are what makes a concept into reality, and the first step in releasing. We are still detoxing, and sometimes you have to give them a piece before you find your peace. Beware though, of Mercury Rx’s shadow and possible consequences of Doing Too Much.

We also tend to hold a lot of tension in our shoulders and upper back. Lean into Taurus energy and book a full body massage, or ask a friend or partner to love on your muscles a little bit. Remember: receiving is part of flow. Overgiving is what blocks it. If it's uncomfortable, ask yourself why.

This moon is your permission to take care of yourself. We’ve had a very intense few months- with Aries full moon, Scorpio Szn and the onset of seasonal depression- and Taurus reminds you that sometimes, yes, self-care does mean rose petals and bubble baths. When things feel a little intense, try the HAL T method, and then meet yourself with compassion.

Overall, the universe is blessing us with a bit of a break. We can’t forgo the journey we’ve been on, but we can kick off our shoes, sit by the fire, and enjoy where we are. You’ve earned this sweetness. Let yourself taste it.
