Your Favorite Romance Trope: Astrology Edition

I know what you’re going to say. “Ryan, I am tired of all this goddamn shadow work.” And I hear you babe. Loud and clear. It’s basically been the focus of the last two Szn’s and boy has it BEEN. But rest assured, this week is a cosmic handoff: Scorpio revealed, the New Moon resets, and Sag broadcasts your truth to the universe.

We are in a rare moment right now where the scary stuff meets shiny, sparkly optimism and expansive growth, and even with Mercury Rx overhead this is your chance to get clear, loud, and unapologetically delusional about what you want. 

It’s giving black cat and golden retriever energy- a very unexpected yet refreshing combo. 

As we close the door on Scorpio Szn, we are just three signs away from the astrological new year, and the themes around Sag Szn round us out nicely before things get sorta serious (I’m looking at you, Daddy Capricorn). The divine dichotomy between these Szns gives us the room to get excited about the opportunities we are manifesting under the new moon. After Scorpio stripped us of excess, we’re wired for clarity and now we have the emotional bandwidth to want loudly. We can get delulu with our goals and feel confident that we are being heard- so long as those goals align with our deepest, truest desires. 

So if Scorpio stripped you raw, Sag arrives with glitter glue and a vision board.

Sagittarius is your wild child. Carefree, uninhibited and unfiltered Sag has you laughing one minute and cringing the next. The epitome of “I am fucking crazy…but I am free.” Sag’s are equally good at putting their foot in their mouth and being the life of the party. Lucky Girl Syndrome was designed for us. 

Because of this quirky fire sign’s excessive optimism, doors open at every turn. It’s like that Lindsey Lohan movie; You find yourself at the right place at exactly the right time. Mutable signs especially shine during this season, an ease and flow weaving into their day-to-day without any thought. And as a Sag sun, I support this message.

But no matter what your sign is, when Sag Szn rolls around you can expect parties to be louder, liquor to hit harder, and belly laughs to feel fuller. Even though Mercury Rx has his beady little eyes on us we can feel free to release our inhibitions one last time before winter comes in with the seriousness. Mercury is shaking the camera, but Sagittarius is belting Broadway-style anyway. Use this season’s energy to roll with the punches and adapt quickly when things go awry.

With Jupiter’s influence (Sag’s ruling planet) you can feel motivated and encouraged to try new things, push forth in existing endeavors and trust that everything always works out for you. Jupiter is currently retrograde though, so acts of expansion deserve a second check: is this in service of your long-term vision?  If it does, great! Book it, bitch. But if it doesn’t align, cast it to the wind and “thank you, next.”

Additionally, the new moon in Scorpio tonight means you can really harness the energy of relinquishing the mind, body and soul of anything that’s killing your vibe. Scorpio, as we know, is the prince of darkness and all things shameful. It is having tea with your shadow self, and opening your arms to transformation. Under this influence, we are being asked to push past our limitations and open up to our full potential. Sagittarius supports this enthusiastically, complete with airhorns and confetti. 

Scorpio pulls you into your inner underworld; Sagittarius lights the match so you can walk back out. We can get really comfy in the dark here, having a beacon of light to guide us through and remind us that we are safe. Introspective thought and actions can only deepen connection and understanding, so consider where you can push past fear and open up to a new ideal. 

Even if it's not perfect, even if it's “bad”, Sag Szn begs you to put it allll out there. Get down and dirty with what you learned over the last few weeks and let Sagittarius blow it up on the big screen for you.
