Saturn in Aries: Vroom Vroom, Bitch.
We are not fucking around. Saturn in Aries is here to push you into the reality you’ve been saying that you want. Do you want it badly enough? This afternoon, Friday the 13th of February, Saturn moved from Pisces to Aries where it will remain until 2028. And this marks a significant shift in the way we have been making decisions and moving through life for the last few years to now.
Let’s break it down.
You’ve heard me talk about Daddy Capricorn…but do you know what planet rules Capricorn? Yeah, it’s Saturn.
Saturn is the planet of discipline, tough love and barriers. When he comes around and starts pushing planets and aspects around, you can expect challenges and new walls to come up. It isn’t a punishment, though it may feel like one. Saturn’s authoritative eye serves to push us towards our best potential, giving us the opportunity to adapt and overcome. We are reminded that goals take time to achieve, and only through the patient completion of work will we be able to ascend to our desired spot in life.
Adversely, Aries is all about starting the fire. First of the zodiac and a cardinal sign, Aries is the king of self-starters, passion and initiative. Wherever Aries shows up in your chart you are likely to be relentless and unforgiving in your pursuit or protection of.
So what does their lovechild look like?
From Friday (the 13th!) until 2028, it’s time to stop fooling around and lock the hell in. Basically, structured and rigid Saturn is giving us a clear, paved and tunnel-visioned path towards our wildest desires and goals.
Interestingly enough, Aries Szn is not far off…Aries Szn and the spring equinox occur around the same time each year and it is a masterclass on new beginnings, regrowth and emergence after long, cold Winter (metaphorically. Winter has been over for central Texas for weeks now).
So first and foremost, you need to release your inhibitions. Literally throw them out the window. Anything and anyone that is holding you back from gaining momentum must be dropped as dead weight. Because they are dead weight, babe.
Once you’ve lost the proverbial pounds, it’s time to add a regimen. Saturn is all about structure, and all of this Aries energy left unchecked will result in all play and no work. Make a plan, set boundaries, create a schedule. A goal without a timeline is just throwing shit at the wall, and Saturn will not have anything to do with that willy-nilly BS. You need a new planner and to say “no” to happy hour.
THEN it’s time to get risky. Because I do not mean to clear your bank account and meet that man in Aruba. I mean open your mouth and start talking-loudly- in rooms where potential dances. Pick up that skill you know you need. Commit to the bit, and to yourself. Throw yourself out there. Don’t be shy. But don’t be stupid about it. Think, then jump.
Oh no…did you hit a wall?
Saturn says “you’re welcome.” He will go full-stop when we need a roadblock, and this can frustrate the Aries energy as it is almost always in “go, go, GO” mode. Burnout is real and 1000% possible with this transit. Remember that speedbumps are not meant to stop motion, but to slow it down. Saturn requires you to have the discipline and discernment necessary to pace yourself, make smart risky decisions and calculate before you leap. It’s a balancing act.
This is also a great time to evaluate your response to anger. Aries energy has a reputation for blowing up, and if Saturn starts closing doors frustration can grow. Giving space for appropriate expression of anger is necessary, if not life-saving, during times where Aries energy is prominent. Expect frustrations to be higher overall, for everyone, and lean on somatic practices to guide you toward healthier actions.
So what do I do?
From a practical standpoint, you want to take calculated risks. Check and double check investments before throwing out the money. Ensure contracts are tight and then hit GO. Getting a full night’s rest is a priority, starting a new workout program is secondary.
The next two years-ish will mature you, whether you are ready or not. It will also exalt you, if you let it. The road is up to you.
