Say it loud, say it proud: Gemini Full Moon
It’s the last full moon of the calendar year, and boy is it a powerful one. As a Sagittarius sun, I couldn’t feel more alive, warm, and at peace. But not in a zen way- in a “in my lane and flying fast” way.
A full moon in Gemini during the crescendo of Sag Szn feels so auspicious I could cry.
See, Gemini and Sagittarius are sister signs, meaning essentially they embody the same energy but in different fonts. They sit directly across from each other on the astrological wheel and are both mutable signs.
Both are social, exuberant, life of the party, adaptable. But where Gemini differs from Sag is the expression of those traits. Gemini loves a bash, but will remember tact where Sag might go dance on the table. They both love a philosophical debate, but Gemini comes with receipts. Sag gets hotter and louder in an argument while Gemini gets sharper.
Gemini is the twin, the dichotomy, the space between differences, and Sag can clash here due to her straight-forward approach to honesty. The truth about Gemini is that he isn’t a liar (though pop culture and dating might have convinced you otherwise), he is playful. And when the moon moves here, we can feel a little mischievous.
Geminis are masters of communication. They understand nuance and sarcasm better than most, and this might play a part in why they get a bad rep; when people have trouble understanding something, it scares them. A Gemini’s mental prowess is one of those things. So this full moon encourages you to be mindful of the words you choose and the games you play.
Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury (which finally went direct 11/29, thank god!), meaning that ideas, conversations and motivations are running through you with crystal-clear energy when you engage with them. Use the social energy of these sister signs to meet a friend for coffee, host a potluck or try a new class and watch inventions and downloads high-tail it into your consciousness. And then you can put them together with high-staked excitement and wider understanding.
Outside of your social life, there is special emphasis on our current goals- perhaps the intentions you set at the last new moon. The sisters’ joint energy is encouraging us to consider where we are still playing small. You have so much luck and opportunity on your side this Szn, so why are you mincing your words and playing it safe when you can speak up and play ball? Because this lunation sits so high in the sky, and appears “closer” to earth, we can channel an even higher perspective of knowledge and the full picture of whatever it is we are working on right now.
Through all the shit we dredged from our internal lakes, this is the moment where both the Sun and Moon light up the world and leave little to the shadows. We can ask ourselves: What stories have you been holding on to? What have you been unable to articulate that is now very plain to see? What pieces have you been missing or unaware of that are now in the light? How does that piece fit into our reality, or does it fit at all?
Full moons are traditionally a letting go, and under Gemini we can see every detail of what it is we want to return to Source. If this isn’t the story you want for yourself, cast it away and pick up something else.
In a more practical sense, reflect on all that you have uncovered through the fall and what has opened up for you the last two weeks. Use a voice note instead of a journal to shake things up- just stream of consciousness vibes: What conversations have illuminated conflict? Where has there been a hard truth revealed, and how did you react to it? What values are you holding on to that no longer align with who you are becoming? What narrative DO you want to embody?
My identity as an entrepren-woo-er is under the spotlight right now and I feel as though I’m tasked with finally grounding into something that means something to me. What does my title of a business owner mean? How do I want to show up in my business? Where am I taking this blog? What systems do I want to build into this business? How does that fit into the bigger picture?
All of this is illuminated for me now and I have the opportunity to embrace it and reflect, taste and try it on. What are you in the dressing room for? Is it career, love, self-esteem? Check what house Gemini falls in your chart if you need a push in the right direction, but intuitively you already know.
Every 28 days we have an opportunity for clarity and release. The Gemini supermoon standing tandem with the Sun in Sagittarius turns the dial up even more, like diamonds in a babbling brook bed. The sparkle is yours, if you want it. Pick it up and see what happens. Remember that this is your life, your career, your reality. Lean on Gemini to clear up any fog and saddle up Sag for the courage to leap forward.
